A new and extraordinary interpretation of the works of the legendary frontman of Queen. The songs of one of the most iconic rock vocalists in history are reimagined through operatic voices and a string quartet, creating a unique fusion of rock energy and classical elegance.
In reference to 19th‐century salon concerts—when classical music was considered entertainment for aristocratic society—these performances take place in the most beautiful historic halls and palaces across Poland. Alongside Freddie Mercury’s repertoire, audiences will also hear music by George Frideric Handel, as well as reinterpretations of traditional Indian music reflecting Mercury’s heritage, performed in refined piano arrangements.
Freddie Mercury, like the legendary castrato Farinelli centuries before him, was a star of his era, admired for his theatricality and vocal power. His fascination with opera is well known, including his collaboration with soprano Montserrat Caballé. This concert pays tribute to that artistic dialogue, presenting Queen’s music in a refined, acoustic, candlelit form performed by musicians from the Opera da Camera di Roma.
The result is a unique concert experience—intimate, emotional, and visually stunning—where candle glow transforms legendary rock into a classical, operatic journey.
