The Waldbühne Concert
Berlin, Waldbühne — Main Amphiteatre
About the Event
At Berlin’s iconic Waldbühne, Daniel Barenboim and the West‐Eastern Divan Orchestra host their traditional open‐air concert with a familiar face: Cellist Yo‐Yo Ma, present at the orchestra’s founding in Weimar in 1999 and an honorary member, joins in. Alongside young musicians from Israel, Palestine, and numerous other nations from the Middle East and North Africa, he delivers Antonín Dvořák’s poignant Cello Concerto. Complementing the ambiance of a summer evening, Schumann’s lively “Rhenish” Symphony completes the program.
Program
- Antonín Dvořák – Konzert für Violoncello und Orchester h‐Moll op. 104
- Robert Schumann – Symphonie Nr. 3 Es‐Dur op. 97 »Rheinische«
