Mischpoke: Klezmer High Life in Apostel‐Paulus‐Kirche Berlin
Berlin, Apostel‐Paulus‐Kirche
About the Event
Mischpoke is a klezmer band from Hamburg that has gained a Europe‐wide audience. Anyone who experiences the electrifying performance of these five artistic personalities will sense very clearly that this band has found its own sound: “Klezmer High Life.”
This sound continues in the band's new and sixth album, which they are currently working on. It's where klezmer meets tango, world music meets jazz, original compositions meet tradition, and new lyrics meet the here and now. In any case, the audience is treated to a rousing live energy that gets hearts and hips swinging.
Mischpoke's concerts are like a grand musical invitation to make our lives together joyful and respectful. However, it is not pure harmony that is celebrated, but the fullness of existence, from beauty to failure. Whether at a wine bistro in Hamburg, international festivals, or the Berlin Philharmonic: with their passionate and highly virtuosic playing, the band captivates its audience emotionally every time – from tender melancholy to absolute elation. In other words, “klezmer high life”!
