In one of the most successful cinematic documentaries of all time, “Microcosmos – The People of the Grasses,” a patch of meadow becomes a stage where beetles, spiders, and caterpillars play the leading roles. Extreme macro shots allow viewers to discover the insects at eye level and get to know their world up close. It seems as though the viewers themselves have shrunk to the size of a microorganism. Green meadows appear like impenetrable primeval forests dewdrops become giant balloons. Extreme close‐ups alternate with wide shots (landscapes, shots of the sky with cloud formations and storms) and cosmic vistas (images of the sun, the moon, and the starry sky). The skillful use of the camera ensures that the miniature protagonists look like creatures in a fantasy thriller. Welcome to the “People of the Grasses.”
Organ concert with video transmission from the console of the large Sauer organ to a screen in the sanctuary.
