Eröffnungskonzert AGGREGATE Festival 2026
Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin — Großer Saal
About the Event
Curated by the Berlin‐based organ duo gamut inc, the sixth “Festival for Automated and Contemporary Organ Music” AGGREGATE is taking place for the first time in collaboration with the Konzerthaus Berlin. The duo, founded by Marion Wörle and Maciej Śledziecki, is the resident ensemble for the current season’s organ series at the Konzerthaus.
To mark the occasion, the Jehmlich organ in the Great Hall has been converted into a “hyperorgan”—for the first time, the instrument can be controlled directly via computer using a MIDI interface. The opening concert is entirely dedicated to exploring these new possibilities.
The program features works by electronic musician Rrose (Seth Hrovitz), the Sollmann Sprenger duo, and compositions by gamut inc. created during their residency. Together with American composer Laurie Spiegel, they have dedicated themselves to her work “The Expanding Universe,” which is considered a milestone in electronic music. Without any speakers at all, gamut inc. will perform two movements on the grand organ for the first time. To conclude, they will present an expanded version of their “dialogue de l’orgue double”—now a dialogue between the wind‐dynamic modular organs BLACK SQUARE, developed for gamut inc., and the new Konzerthaus hyperorgan.
