About the Event
Memories are sounds that linger. Spanning autobiographical soundscapes, political testimony, and two new musical perspectives, the program traces a path from personal memory to collective memory. Oxana Omelchuk’s “Memories. Tape I” reconstructs the acoustic world of her childhood, while Frederic Rzewski’s “Coming Together” imbues a single voice with universal significance. The world premieres by Elaine Mitchener and Nina Šenk shed light on contemporary questions of identity, community, and artistic renewal. Together, they create a project about what connects people: remembering, listening, and the power of shared experience.
