Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg: John Williams Gala
Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin — Großer Saal
About the Event
Film and music have been inseparable since the early days of the moving picture. Even though it’s rare today to see a live orchestra performing in a movie theater, film scores have become timeless classics. With well over 1,000 concerts and television appearances, the Babelsberg Film Orchestra looks back on a long and successful history on stage. Performance venues include, among others, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles concerts in major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi featuring the music of Oscar‐winning composer A. R. Rahman and, of course, their legendary live film concerts at the Waldbühne and the Gendarmenmarkt. With classical and timeless composers such as Mozart, Wagner, Strauss, Bach, and Brahms—whose melodies have been immortalized in films like *Seven*, *Apocalypse Now*, *Death in Venice*, *2001: A Space Odyssey*, and *Platoon*—the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg fills the Philharmonie with its unique symphonic sound.
