Dvorak's The 'New World' Symphony
Barcelona, Palau de la Música Catalana — Concert Hall
About the Event
We are delighted to introduce one of today’s most distinguished conductors to our audience: the French conductor Chloé Van Soeterstède, whose clear gesture and expressive readings have made her one of the most compelling musical voices of her generation. We will also welcome back cellist Nadège Rochat for her second appearance in the season, this time performing Elgar’s deeply moving Cello Concerto, a work of intimate confession and orchestral tension. In the second half, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, From the New World, will fill the stage with melodic breadth and rhythmic drive. An intense programme of sweeping symphonic power.
Program
- Edward Elgar – Cello Concerto, Op. 85
