About the Event
Mendelssohn's “Scottish” Symphony is not only a masterpiece of Romanticism, but also an early example of the “Nordic style” – a sound ideal that also influenced the music of Sibelius, Grieg, and Brahms. Artists from the north are shaping this evening to match: Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich, who began his university studies in Karlsruhe at the age of eleven, Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski, and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
