Richard Wagner: Siegfried
Baden‐Baden, Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
About the Event
Wagner's “Ring of the Nibelung” comprises four operas – or “music dramas,” as the composer called them. He also saw these works as symphonic, as a further development of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. That's why it's worth listening to the “Ring” in concert. “Siegfried” combines the humanization of a hero with nature music. The “forest weaving” in the second act is pure magic. Yannick Nézet‐Séguin continues his concert version of the “Ring” with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra at the Festspielhaus.
With surtitles in German and English.
