About the Event

A Spanish evening with singing, drama, fun — and the lyric tenor of today, Piotr Beczała, who has also delighted Baden‐Baden audiences in opera and concerts between his appearances in Vienna, New York and Milan. At Beczała's side is a “mezzo sensation”: Aigul Akhmetshina, Polina in our 2022 Easter Festival “Queen of Spades” and the currently hottest “Carmen”. The audience at the New York Met fell at her feet, and we too have fallen for her dark timbre — look forward to a particularly glamorous farewell to the year!

Artists

Tenor: Piotr Beczała
Orchestra: Philharmonie Baden‐Baden

Founded in its current iteration in 1854, the Baden‐Baden Philharmonic is one of Germany's oldest and most respected orchestras, with a history that can be traced back to the mid‐1400s. A familiar presence on the world's most prestigious stages and at events of international importance, the orchestra gave the world premieres of numerous, now canonical, works by composers such as Richard Strauss and Johannes Brahms; its roster of guest conductors and soloists reads as a veritable Who's Who of classical music's greatest names. The orchestra's annual concert programme ranges from small‐scale chamber concerts to the grandest of Opera Galas at Baden‐Baden's Festspielhaus, via an exceptional range of concert formats that cater for all ages, from the devotee with decades of concerts under their belt to toddlers experiencing orchestral music for the first time.

Mezzo-soprano: Aigul Akhmetshina
