About the Event

Two worlds collide: Rachmaninoff's Second Symphony, still deeply rooted in his Russian homeland, contrasts with the late Paganini Rhapsody – an American work whose title is no coincidence reminiscent of Gershwin's famous “Rhapsody in Blue.” The program promises musical moments of revelation and evokes memories of Nézet‐Séguin's acclaimed Rachmaninoff evenings at the Festspielhaus.
