Bel canto always shines particularly brightly in the program: No one knew how to use the singing voice like the composers of romantic opera in Italy. The Taiwanese conductor and Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Yi‐Chen Li, presents an extraordinary vocal artist: the Swiss Regula Mühlemann triumphed in Baden‐Baden in “Liebestrank”, as Papagena in The Magic Flute and in other roles. Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti: it could hardly be more beautiful!
