Quatuor Magenta: Clärchen's Sunday concerts in the Mirror Hall
B‐Mitte, Clärchens Ballhaus — Spiegelsaal
About the Event
Nestled in the bustling heart of Germany's capital, begin an auditory adventure at one of the city's renowned locales. The Hall of Mirrors at Clärchens Ballhaus captivates with its soaring ceilings and gleaming walls, exuding a distinctive patina. Famous for its superb acoustics, it stands as a premier concert destination.
The Quatuor Magenta has taken internationally renowned stages by storm and captivates its audiences with its warm sound, tonal sophistication, and infectious musical energy.
The ensemble has a particular passion for modern and contemporary music. This concert evening therefore centers on works by Raphaël Merlin and Grażyna Bacewicz—composers whose string quartets are especially close to the ensemble’s heart.
As a charming contrast, the four musicians will present Maurice Ravel’s ethereal and delicate “Pavane pour une infante défunte” in an arrangement for string quartet, as well as Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 4 in C minor, Op. 18.
