About the Event

Nestled in the vibrant heart of the german capital, embark on an auditory adventure at one of the capital's legendary locations. The Hall of Mirrors at Clärchens Ballhaus, with its lofty ceilings and gleaming walls, captivates with a distinct patina. Noted for its superb acoustics, it stands as a top concert venue.

Pianist Kim Barbier invites you to a recital that blends musical poetry, virtuosity, and spiritual depth. Having grown up amidst diverse cultures and shaped by both the French piano tradition and the legendary school of Maria Curcio, her playing combines tonal sophistication, great expressiveness, and an extraordinary narrative intensity.

At the heart of the program is Mozart’s Sonata in A Major, K. 331, a work brimming with elegance, imagination, and dance‐like lightness, crowned by the famous “Alla Turca.” Chopin’s soaring Barcarolle opens up a world of lyrical beauty and mysterious harmonies, before Liszt’s Sposalizio and “God’s Blessing in Solitude” become musical meditations of luminous timbre and spiritual grandeur.

The program concludes with Busoni’s monumental piano arrangement of the Chaconne from Bach’s Partita in D minor, a work of overwhelming architectural power and emotional depth, in which Baroque austerity and Romantic sonic vision meet in a unique way.

A concert evening that balances intimacy and grandeur, contemplative calm and pianistic fire.
