Easter Concert: Clärchen's Sunday concerts in the Mirror Hall
B‐Mitte, Clärchens Ballhaus — Spiegelsaal
About the Event
Nestled in the bustling heart of Germany's capital, begin an auditory adventure at one of the city's renowned locales. The Hall of Mirrors at Clärchens Ballhaus captivates with its soaring ceilings and gleaming walls, exuding a distinctive patina. Famous for its superb acoustics, it stands as a premier concert destination.
Dmitry Smirnov and Tamás Vásárhelyi are both members of the Basel Chamber Orchestra. These versatile violin virtuosos have joined forces to present a program of playful intensity. Through their close artistic bond, they create a fusion of two brilliant personalities that transports the audience into the fascinating world of violin playing in all its colors, energies, and forms of expression.
We look forward to a captivating program that ranges from rhythmic sophistication to highly virtuosic sound artistry: Béla Bartók’s Duos for Two Violins open the evening with incisive rhythms, folkloric energy, and a striking musical dialogue. Miklós Rózsa’s Sonata for Two Violins, Op. 15a, combines romantic expressiveness with cinematic musical language and passionate drama. The program concludes with Eugène Ysaÿe’s Sonata for Two Violins in A minor (Op. posth.), a work of great emotional depth, radiant virtuosity, and haunting musical poetry.
A concert evening that celebrates the art of breathing in unison while playing.
