About the Event

The pinnacle of collaborative singing comes from England. The King's Singers and VOCES8 take the stage together for the first time with a multi‐faceted program. World‐class close harmony singing, from Elton John and Paul Simon to Gustav Holst and John Rutter.

The King's Singers
Whether you know the legendary British formation or not, The King's Singers always convince with surprising acapella programs. In which they effortlessly switch from classical to jazz or pop, and from early music to contemporary music written especially for them. And they have been doing this for over fifty years, with ever new voices and always a lot of fun. World‐famous and most popular, The King's Singers are for their unparalleled close harmony laced with unadulterated British humor. Last year, they joined forces for the first time with vocal ensemble VOCES8 at the BBC Proms. This successful formula is now coming to the Netherlands for the first time through a collaboration between The Concertgebouw and The Big Sing (Haarlem).

VOCES8
Vocal ensemble VOCES8 celebrates its twentieth anniversary this summer. Over the past two decades, the eight members (hence the name!) have been on stage with a wide variety of world‐renowned musicians: think Paul Simon, Jacob Collier, Eric Whitacre and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Their repertoire is equally diverse, from jazz and pop to classical. In addition to all their performances, the members of VOCES8 constantly free up space in their schedules for music education in order to inspire others with their love of music.
