Opera Classics
Opera lovers beware: the Belgian National Orchestra plays highlights from famous romantic operas and operettas by the best composers from Italy, France and Germany. Chief conductor Anthony Hermus, who has led many productions in Europe's major opera houses, brings with him two international opera stars with whom he has often worked: the Russian soprano Sofia Fomina and the British tenor David Butt Philip.
From Verdi to Lehár
The heroic operas of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini are world‐famous, but Franz Lehár's entertaining operettas are also very popular. Of course, French masterpieces by composers such as Charles Gounoud and Georges Bizet should not be missed. You will hear the most beautiful excerpts from audience favorites of all these composers. From dazzling overtures and interludes to poignant solo arias. And with love duets by, among others, Rodolfo and Mimi from Puccini's hit La Bohème and Hanna Glawari and Count Danilo from Lehár's Die lustige Witwe.
