Netherlands Chamber Orchestra plays Rossini, Paganini and Schubert
Amsterdam, Concertgebouw — Main Hall
About the Event
Canadian violin virtuoso Kerson Leong debuts with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, performing Paganini's First Violin Concerto, often regarded as the most challenging violin concerto globally. Schubert's incomplete Eighth Symphony will also grace the program.
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra
Established in 1955, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra boasts a rich history filled with significant accomplishments. Despite merging with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in 1985, the group retained its distinct character. The interaction among orchestra members is notably striking, as they often perform without a conductor, communicating almost instinctively. This exceptional chemistry is evident in every performance. Gordan Nikolić has served as the leader, or 'concertmaster,' since 2004.
