About the Event
In “Voices of Twilight,” Kobra explores the world between day and night, summer and winter.
What does nightfall sound like? What do we hear when it is dark and how do we move in this in‐between world? And when we light the Christmas lights, what do we experience?
During months when we live more in the twilight again, autumn and winter, we dive into the different customs and rituals surrounding nightfall and the transition of the seasons. In the month of December, the program is complemented by Kobra's favorite Christmas music.
With music from Rachmaninov to Duruflé and from Bulgarian to Swedish folk music, Kobra ushers in the last months of the year with joy and sorrow, stillness and celebration.
About Kobra Ensemble
At Kobra, a wide variety of musical styles come together in one a cappella ensemble. Kobra works from the belief that things don't have to be uniform to fit together. In 2021, they released their first EP with Just Listen Records. This EP is a motley collection of music they hold dear, full of idiosyncrasies and idiosyncrasies: KOBRA.
Seven singers, each with a different musical background, come together in their love for polyphonic music. They prefer not to color within the lines. They prefer to sing on as different stages, events and festivals as possible, constantly looking for new audiences to surprise. For example, they previously collaborated with classical greats at the Concertgebouw, but also with a metal band at the Roadburn Festival. Last year they toured the country with “rebel collective” Pynarello.
Practical Information
The Bösendorfer Series is a series of intimate piano recitals in which nine top pianists shine behind our Bösendorfer Imperial Grand grand piano. The Bösendorfer Series is made possible in part by Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam.
