Bösendorfer Series: Olga Pashchenko
Amsterdam, De Waalse Kerk
About the Event
Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Amsterdam's breathtaking De Waalse Kerk for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of music.
The Bösendorfer Piano Series is a series of intimate piano recitals in which nine top pianists shine behind our Bösendorfer Imperial Grand grand piano.
Pianist Olga Pashchenko comes to us with a special performance from her recently recorded album: a selection from the Lieder ohne Worte by Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn. Although she recorded the album on a historic 1836 Conrad Graf piano, Pashchenko will perform some poetic, wordless songs with us on our own Bösendorfer. The program bears the telling title Guess Who, a nod to the mystery surrounding the true creator of this genre. In addition to pieces by Felix, Pashchenko will also perform four works from Fanny's Lieder für das Pianoforte — refined, intimate miniatures in which her unique voice comes through clearly. After intermission, Olga will play Ligeti's Musica Ricercata and close her recital with music by Chopin.
