About the Event
Bill Laurance and Michael League, celebrated for their pioneering work with Snarky Puppy, will once again join in an intimate musical exchange in our Recital Hall. Laurance will be on acoustic piano, while League will perform on oud, guitar, and fretless bass. Their over twenty‐year musical camaraderie shines through in every phrase: polished, personal, and distinct from the grand band sound that earned them global acclaim. This is a rare chance to witness these two maestros up close.
Jazz and pop music
The synergy between The Concertgebouw and jazz & pop music is undeniable. The stages of both the Main Hall and the Recital Hall have hosted nearly the entirety of jazz history. Legends like Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald have performed here, along with icons such as Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. Renowned pop stars and bands, including Frank Zappa, the Doors, and the Eagles, have also graced the Main Hall stage. These are legendary concerts, both past and present.
