Jazz virtuoso Ravi Coltrane pays homage to his mother Alice Coltrane's musical heritage in a concert focused on her iconic Translinear Light.
In anticipation of John Coltrane’s 100th birthday in 2026, we’re commemorating a revolutionary figure with four concerts, remembering the unforgettable evenings he gifted to The Concertgebouw in the 1960s.
Jazz and Pop Music
The Concertgebouw is undeniably a superb match for jazz and pop music. The Main Hall and Recital Hall stages have showcased nearly the entire jazz narrative. Icons like Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, alongside Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong, have performed here.
