Enjoy an evening of Hollywood's most beloved music during A Night at the Oscars. The Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie and singer Mary Carewe enchant with music from Oscar‐winning film classics such as The Godfather, Star Wars and Titanic.
During this concert you will hear music from several films the films themselves will not be screened.
Film classics come to life
This festive evening will feature iconic film music loved by millions of people worldwide. From classics like Cabaret, Breakfast at Tiffany's or The Wizard of Oz to more modern films like Frozen and Skyfall, they will all come to life. As diverse as the movies are, so is the music. For example, even the 20th Century Fox Fanfare, opening tune of countless classics, is on the program.
Red carpet
During A Night at the Oscars, the red carpet goes out for vocalist Mary Carewe, conductor Nicholas Milton and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. They will translate the grandeur of the Oscars to The Concertgebouw and perform the music of Oscar‐winning blockbusters. English vocalist Mary Carewe sings the songs of Adele, Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland, among others. Australian conductor Nicholas Milton is in charge. He is known for his charismatic stage persona and powerful performance of well‐known works. He is one of Australia's best‐known conductors and the only Australian conductor ever to be nominated for a Grammy.
