About the Event
Film music is a genre that dates back to the symphonic music of the early 20th century, characterized by its loud, effective, and catchy tunes. With this in mind, conductor Tarmo Peltokoski presents a unique concept to the Baden‐Baden audience – combining the worlds of film and classical music in one concert. To kick off the performance, the audience is treated to the iconic title music from Hitchcock's "Vertigo." Composed by the renowned Bernard Herrmann, this piece has become legendary. Similarly, the mention of "2001 — A Space Odyssey" immediately brings to mind Strauss' memorable "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" motif.
