Christmas Concert at Basilica of San Domenico Maggiore
Naples, Basilica of San Domenico Maggiore
About the Event
Get ready for an incredible Christmas concert in Naples at the stunning Basilica of San Domenico Maggiore. Commissioned in 1283 by Charles II of Anjou, this basilica has a rich history as it was built incorporating the previous Benedictine church of San Michele Arcangelo in Morfisa. With significant transformations over the centuries, the basilica and the adjoining convent complex are considered valuable treasures in the ancient center of Naples. The walls of the basilica hold memories of renowned individuals, from philosophers like St. Thomas Aquinas, Giordano Bruno, and Tommaso Campanella to artists such as Tino di Camaino, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, and many more.
