Budapest Festival Orchestra at Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden

About the Event

The music of Brahms, with its Hungarian influences, is performed by the best musicians. A distinctive Hungarian twist can be found in the final movement of Brahms' second piano concerto, where the sounds of Sinti and Roma musicians suddenly appear. Throughout his life, the German composer greatly admired and incorporated the music of Hungary into his works. It was only fitting then, that conductor Iván Fischer and his Budapest Festival Orchestra included two of Brahms' Hungarian dances in their performance, along with his Second Symphony, which was finished in Baden‐Baden.
