Brandauer, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Manze at Kulturpalast Dresden

About the Event

The legendary actor Klaus Maria Brandauer returns to the Dresden Music Festival with his fantastic rendition of »A Midsummer Night’s Dream« — this time in a version for orchestra. In this breath‐taking classic, not only humans stumble into love’s traps, but also the inhabitants of the magical forest. Brandauer lends his virtuoso voice to the pranks and escapades of the love‐sick and love‐lorn figures. He is accompanied by the formidable Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under Andrew Manze, bringing the twists and turns of the comedy to impressive life in Mendelssohn’s wonderful setting. The first part of the concert features Schubert’s »Unfinished«, a work that occasionally seems full of mystery itself, therein resembling »A Midsummer Night’s Dream«.
