About the Event
The long journey dedicated to the orchestral masterpieces of Johannes Brahms reaches its final chapter with the Double Concerto for violin and cello. Combining symphonic form and concert form in a single masterpiece, the genius of Hamburg ended the long cycle of concerts and symphonies with which, since 1862, he had studded his long musical career. It was not by chance that Brahms himself, at the age of fifty‐four, described this concert as 'my crazy, last composition'.
