About the Event

The Tonkünstler Orchester will be joined by the Wiener Singverein, the Wiener Sängerknaben and talented soloists in this concert with works by Beethoven, Mozart, and Bernstein at the Musikverein in Vienna.

The highlight of the evening is Bernstein's 'Kaddish', a piece originally dedicated to John F. Kennedy who was assassinated a few weeks before its premiere. In the masterwork, Bernstein unites the Jewish prayer with the themes of faith, death, suffering and loss, leaving his audience with a glimmer of hope towards the end of the work.
