Berliner Residenz Konzerte: Mozart & Haydn, Orangerie Berlin

About the Event

While the palace garden is in summer blossom, the Berlin Residence Orchestra invites you to an exclusive concert series in an intimate atmosphere in the White Hall in the New Wing of Charlottenburg Palace from June 2021 — in whose light‐filled ambience you will rediscover the summer garden art.

Let the chamber ensemble of the Berlin Residence Orchestra enchant you with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn and Luigi Boccherini.
Mozart's Divertimento in D major is inspired by the joie de vivre and lightness that still resonated in him after a trip to Italy. The royal hall's dominant colour scheme of white, delicate green, rosé and gold carries the composition's freshness into the bright room.
In the exclusive concert series of the Berlin Residence Orchestra, you will also experience Haydn ́s String Quartet in G minor op.74 No.3 — the 'Rider's Quartet'. Although Haydn was not particularly fond of riding after a fall from a horse, he nevertheless composed a string quartet with this epithet, which captivates with its expressiveness and originality.
You will be enchanted by Luigi Boccherini's String Quartet in C major op.2 No. 6, which was composed in 1761 before his emigration from Italy and is still free of influences from Paris or Spain.
Enjoy the concert in an exclusive atmosphere with all your senses and immerse yourself in a musical summer night.
