Baroque Dances: Spitalfields Music Summer Festival

About the Event

The Royal Academy of Music Baroque Ensemble presents "Festo di ballo" (baroque dances) at the Spitalfields Music Summer Festival.

Join Laurence Cummings and students from the Royal Academy of Music with their programme of baroque dance. They will dance their way through madrigals by Gesualdo and Monteverdi, dances from the ducal courts of 17th century Italy including the daring "La nizzarda" and the elegant "contrapasso nuovo", a descent into Hades with Act 3 of Monteverdi’s "Orfeo" and finally all the fun of the Venetian Carnival.
