Orchestra

The orchestra of the Vienna Cathedral draws on all of Vienna's major orchestras for its players, bringing together many of the most experienced and exceptional orchestral instrumentalists on the planet. The ensemble varies in size according to the demands of the programmed works, ranging from a small chamber ensemble to full symphonic strength, and the orchestra is primarily responsible for accompanying the Cathedral's choir in High Masses and concerts. On special occasions and feast days, orchestral works and large-scale oratorios may be performed.
