The Band of the Belgian Guides was created in 1832 by King Leopold I as his own personal band attached to the Royal Guard. The band soon got a fine and ever increasing reputation, especially due to its gifted conductors.
It consists of a symphonic band and an ensemble of cavalry trumpeters. The band performs continuously both in Belgium and abroad and it does many efforts to create and promote compositions of as well Belgian as foreign composers. The Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides is considered as one of the best bands in the world.
