Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino
The Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino descends from an orchestra founded at the end of the 19th century by Arturo Toscanini. In its activity the Orchestra has demonstrated a marked versatility in confronting both the standard repertoire and many works of the 20th century, including many different world premieres and Italian premieres.
The orchestra has performed with the most renowned soloists and has been conducted by such internationally acclaimed conductors as Roberto Abbado, Bruno Bartoletti, Semyon Bychkov, Bruno Campanella, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Valery Gergiev, Peter Maag, Daniel Oren, Evelino Pidò, Yutaka Sado, Jeffrey Tate and Gianandrea Noseda. With Noseda, who has held the position of Music Director of the Teatro Regio since 2007, the ensemble has toured throughout Europe, China and Japan for opera productions and concerts.
