Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia
Orchestra
Italy's oldest purely-symphonic orchestra was founded in 1908; its starry history includes many of the greatest musical names of the 20th and 21st Centuries. Internationally acclaimed, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia is a regular guest of the world's great concert halls and has numerous world premieres to its credit. British conductor Daniel Harding assumed the post of Chief Conductor in October 2024, following in the footsteps of Sir Antonio Pappano, whose tenure lasted nearly twenty years. The orchestra is also one of the most-recorded symphonic ensembles of recent years, with dozens of acclaimed recordings - and a similar number of international awards - released, featuring a roster of guest soloists whose names will be familiar to all lovers of classical music.
