Orchester 1756

Ensemble

Critically acclaimed as one of the best Baroque orchestras performing today, the Orchester 1756 performs on historical instruments, focusing their repertoire on the works of W.A.Mozart and their interpretations on an authentic representation of the works at the time of their composition. The year 1756 marks a border between the two styles of music, and founder Konstantin Hiller leads the ensemble from the harpsichord, in accordance with Baroque and early Classical norms. The Orchester 1756 performs in Vienna and Salzburg, filling some of those cities' most celebrated architectural landmarks, including the St Charles Church and the Mirabell Palace, among others, with the music of their own era. The ensemble is also a frequent guest of famous halls and theatres in Europe and further afield, often at the invitation of world-famous soloists who also specialise in the music of this era.
