Marko Martin

Soloist

Marko Martin studied piano with Lembit Orgse at the Tallinn High School of Music and with Peep Lassmann at the Estonian Academy of Music. He had his debut playing the Second Piano Concerto by Brahms with conductor Nicholas Kok and The Philharmonia in London.
Marko Martin completed his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Theatre in July, 2000. For the season 2000/ 2001 he attained Performance Fellowship, meaning that he had the right to study with all the professors there during that one year and that he had an obligation to be engaged with students from lower years (to teach lessons and workshops, organise concerts at school, etc). So far his most significant award has been the laureate title and the award for best chamber music performance and compulsory piece at the Third International Esther Honens Piano Competition in Calgary in November, 2000. Winning the Competition brought along an extensive programme during which Marko needs to perform chamber music, give recitals and concerts with orchestras in Europe and America.
