Marianne Boettcher studied in Berlin with Willy Kirch and Michel Schwalbé, supplemented her studies in Geneva with Prof. Hendryk Szeryng and today teaches a violin class at the Berlin University of the Arts as a professor. She became known as an interpreter of classical and romantic music she regularly includes contemporary music in her programmes a whole series of compositions have been written for her and premiered by her. Numerous awards, CD productions, radio and television recordings as well as extensive concert tours mark her path. She has received invitations to international festivals (e.g. Berliner Festwochen, Henryk‐Wieniawski‐Festival Poland, Allgemeines Deutsches Bachfest) and has undertaken numerous concert tours. She was repeatedly invited to give master classes (e.g. in Vienna, Tallinn, Rheinsberg). In June 2003 she was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande.
