Berliner Singakademie

Choir

The Berliner Singakademie is one of the largest oratorio choirs in Berlin. It is known for its performances of choral symphonic works and a cappella concerts, making it an integral part of Berlin's music world. Founded in 1963, the Singakademie was artistically influenced by Helmut Koch (until 1975) and Dietrich Knothe (until 1989).

Today's director Achim Zimmermann celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Berliner Singakademie with Mendelsohn‐Bartholdy's 'Elias' in 2013.
