The career of the Russian pianist Dmitri Aleksejev was launched after winning international competitions in Paris in 1969, in Bucarest in 1970, in Moscow in 1974 and in England in 1975. He has performed all over the world with such orchestras as the Berlin and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, 5 London orchestras, conductors Ashkenazy, Boulez, Bychkov, Dorati, Gergijev, Giulini, Jansons, Muti, Rozhdestvenski, Salonen, Temirkanov, Tilson Thomas, Klaus Tennstedt, etc. He has recorded music by Schumann, Grieg, Rachmaninov, Prokofjev, Shostakovitch, Skrjabin, Medtner, Brahms, Chopin and Liszt for such record labels as EMI, BMG, Virgin Classics, Hyperion as well as the Russian record labels. “Most remarkable pianist today” (Daily Telegraph)
