About the Event
Oper Leipzig persents Richard Strauss' 'Arabella' in a production by award‐winning director and film producer Jan Schmidt‐Garre, under the baton of Ulf Schirmer.
This final collaboration between Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Strauss offers a musical portrait of a society whose best days are in its past. Both the waltz‐imbued score and the narrative are a close to operetta as to traditional opera.
