Amsterdam Sinfonietta & Janine Jansen: Great Interpreters at Bologna Festival

About the Event

Despite primarily focusing on classical repertoire from the 19th and 20th centuries in her concert career, Janine Jansen's early exposure to Bach's music has had a lasting impact on her. Bach's 'violin concerto in E major' was the first piece she performed publicly at just ten years old, a moment that still resonates with her today. Her childhood memories are filled with her father playing Bach on the harpsichord at home and the enchanting choral music of the Cathedral of Utrecht. These experiences have influenced her deeply, leading her to dedicate an entire concert with Amsterdam Sinfonietta to both Bach and his beloved son Carl Philipp Emanuel.
