About the Event

The Dresden State Operetta presents a special production of an all‐time favorite: Frank Gabrielson’s adaptation of The Wizard of Oz with music by Harold Arlen and Edgar Harburg.

The Wizard of Oz is undoubtedly one of the most popular stories of the 20th century. Frank Gabrielson’s musical adaptation for the stage was first premiered in 1942 and is widely regarded as one of the best, in no small part thanks to the brilliant music provided by Harold Arlen and Edgar Harburg.
