The Georgian violinist Lisa Batiashvili grew up in a musical family: her parents played their record of Shostakovich's first violin concert often, and the piece has a strong effect on her.

She's joined by Yannick Nézet‐Séguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra, who commissioned Rachmaninov's third symphony, and who perform it, along with a new work by New York composer Nico Muhly.
