About the Event

The works of composers who had to emigrate during the Nazi period indicate a vibrant and diverse musical culture in Germany and the countries of exile. This program combines (film) music by composers who were exiled in America and built up a new life, or artists who were deprived of their homeland and sought refuge in music.

In addition, the program includes compositions that arose during detention in intellectual exile. All works involve the search for an own identity and the deep longing for a world in peace.
