About the event
La Piccola Lirica presents its pocket size version of Puccini's opera Tosca with additional insertion from renowned literary sources. It combines parts of the opera with new technologies to create a special experience at the Teatro Flainano in Rome's historic centre.

The Shortened Opera (Piccola Lirica) is a new adaptation of the opera, with a focus on its popular arias and essential tunes. Furthermore, it offers an innovative reading of the most celebrated masterpieces of lyrical repertory. The recited verses are taken from famous literature by which the librettists were inspired, and which now enriches the performance with some historical context.
The Piccola Lirica Midi Orchestra is the fusion between singers, new audio digital technology, keyboard players and a conductor. In order to create this pocket size Tosca, the 4 musicians use electronic keyboards and samplers to play the parts of usually 60 musicians. This new arrangement of Puccini's famous opera does not last more than 90 minutes and is made pleasant by its concise duration of the Teatro Flaiano.

For its contemporary adaptation, Piccola Lirica has been chosen by the newspapers The Independent (April 15th 2007) and The New York Times as Italian productions of melodramas in Rome, and enjoyable for the spectators of every age and class.

The Gold Ticket is for the first 4 rows and includes an aperitif before the show. The spectators with Gold Tickets are required to show up about 30 minutes before the start time.
