In 2006 the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra proudly celebrates its Sixtieth Anniversary. Founded in 1946 by Sir Thomas Beecham and his vision to create a new first-rate ensemble that would attract the very finest players from around the country. Today, the RPO continues to live up to this aspiration, bringing music to people all around the world.
