ABOUT THE EVENT
The Silver Season will be presented at the Cankarjev Dom (Gallus Hall) or the Slovenian Philharmonic Concert Hall and offers a variegated assortment of world-reputed ensembles and soloists.
The organist László Fassang performs works by Bach, Schumann, and Ligeti in his concert "The Organ between Melodiousness and Sonority" at the Gallus Hall in Ljubljana.
The world of organ is based on the four columns of B.A.C.H. Not only because of the four-note motif, featured in Toccata BWV 540 and adopted by many of Bach’s admirers, among others also Schumann. Priority is given to the integrity of Bach’s organ works and, in these, the search for new compositional and sonic possibilities of the instrument. The sonic dimensions of organ were in their extremes also challenged by Ligeti in Volumina, while through improvisation Fassang will unveil the secrets of the CD organ.
