Ecstatic Music Festival: Chiara String Quartet, Nico Muhly & Valgeir Sigurðsson

The "luminous" and "searing" (New York Times) Chiara String Quartet will perform new works by Nico Muhly and acclaimed Icelandic composer/producer Valgeir Sigurðsson (producer for Björk and Bonnie "Prince" Billy), at Merkin Concert Hall's Ecstatic Music Festival.

The Chiara String Quartet presents the third in their Creator/Curator series, focusing on composer Nico Muhly. The quartet will perform a world premiere by Muhly, who will also join the quartet in arrangements of his concert and film work, as well as a premiere by Muhly's long‐time collaborator, Valgeir Sigurðsson.

This winter, more than 150 composers, songwriters, and performers re‐defining contemporary music come together for the Ecstatic Music Festival at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City for collaborations exploring the fertile terrain between classical and popular music.
